GILLY FOGG

Gilly Fogg is the Head Creative of Lighthouse Studios in Kilkenny, Ireland.
Studying classical puppet filmmaking at the Jiri Trnka Studios in Prague was the start of Gilly’s career in animation. Since then she has directed stop-motion animation for HIT Entertainment in England and directed CG series for DHX Media in Canada.
She returned to Ireland to work in 2D animation at Lighthouse Studios, where she directs and creatively oversees projects with partners including Netflix, Apple TV+ and Warner Brothers, as well as developing original IP. Gilly most recently directed the BAFTA award winning, El Deafo, the Apple TV+ adaptation of Cece Bell’s graphic memoir, relating her experience of being the only deaf child in school.
Gilly is passionate about projects which champion an under-represented perspective, understanding that animation is an incredible medium to foster empathy and understanding.
